The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory issued to Sellersburg Water Customers south of the Sellersburg Water Plant on Holmans Lane in Jeffersonville (see attached map) on 10/18/23 is now lifted.
As a standard, Sellersburg Water opts to issue 48 Hour Precautionary Boil Advisories to give ample time to submit retesting to the third-party testing facility if needed. This advisory is being lifted before 48 hours because third-party testing results have confirmed the safety of the water supply in your area after the loss of pressure on 10/18/23.
The Precautionary Boil Advisory was issued after loss of pressure on 10/18/23 due to a valve failure during scheduled maintenance of the system as part of the replacement of fire hydrants within the Indian Hills neighborhood.
7:00pm Update: Water has been on since around 5:45pm. Crews are out flushing hydrants to remove air from the mains. Pressure fluctuations may be experienced as we continue to work through the system.
5pm Update: Water service is currently being restored to the impacted area and will fully be on by 6pm 10/18/23. Impacted users will be on a 48 precautionary boil advisory once service is restored. Please run your cold water taps for a few minutes at your location to flush any air that may be in your service lines.

Once the advisory is lifted, Sellersburg Water will send communications through email, text, social media, and local news outlets. If you did not receive an email or text earlier in the day, please contact the Sellersburg Utility Billing Office during normal hours to verify your contact information on file.

ALERT: While preforming scheduled maintenance on a valve located on Allison Ln. at Seminole Dr., the valve failed. Due to the location of this valve, the only way to repair this failure is to shut water service off to the Jeffersonville Customers of Sellersburg Water located south of the water plant on Holmans Ln. immediately.
Sellersburg Water Customers south of the Sellersburg Water Plant on Holmans Lane in Jeffersonville (see attached map) will be without water for a couple of hours Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Once service is re-established, you will be on a precautionary boil water advisory. Sellersburg Water has sent communications this through email, text, social media, and local news outlets.
