While the official final day for normal swimming is 7/31/22, there will be a BONUS Saturday August 6th from 2-6pm. We would like to stay open long into the season, we do not have enough available life guards to cover an extended season past schools going back into session. The Annual Pooch Plunge is scheduled for August 14th from 2-4pm.
As previously announced, the Town was to begin an improvement project at Mosley Park with help from the Federal Land and Water Conservation (FLWC) Grant. Originally planned to begin by the end of August; the project included ADA improvements, the addition of a splash pad play area, a new basketball court, a playground, and parking improvements. Unfortunately, the lowest bid for the project came in $400,000 over budget due to costs being driven up by material/labor shortages and unprecedented inflation from the time of the grant approval to the time of bidding.
The Parks Board and Town Council are currently working to review the bid tabulations to re-scope and re-bid to move this project forward. All of this is being done while staying within the requirements of the FLWC Grant and what is available within the Parks Board’s budget. Once a decision is made, there will be an update to this post as it relates to the Mosley Park improvements.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work to improve this community asset and continue to reinvest into our Town!
