CLARK COUNTY, Ind.— Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. plans to begin milling and paving operations on U.S. 31 in Sellersburg as early as Friday, Oct. 29. Weekend lane closures will take place between Prather Street and Utica Street from 10 p.m. on Fridays to 5 a.m. on Mondays through mid/late November, weather permitting. Traffic signal impacts are expected until detector loops are replaced near the end of the project.
The paving work comes ahead of a roadway reconstruction contract on U.S. 31 that is scheduled to let to contractors in 2023. Estimated at $8.5 million, the larger project includes pavement resurfacing and replacement, drainage upgrades, curb ramp replacements, and signal work from the Silver Creek Bridge to Foothill Road.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
