Water Tank Repair

This is to advise all Sellersburg Water Customers in the Downtown Sellersburg area of possible water problems over the next 15 days. The Downtown tank has developed a leak. Emergency repairs will begin tomorrow. Severe Weather For Monday/Tuesday

Pets and Cold Weather

Sellersburg, IN…Town of Sellersburg is urging residents to consider the safety of pets during cold weather. Extreme low temperatures are dangerous to companion animals, such as dogs and cats, and pets should not be exposed to extreme low temperatures for extended periods of time.Animals are required to have access adequate shelter, food and water. West Nile Found

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory

A Precautionary Boil Water Advisory is in effect for the Hill n Dale Area on the Sellersburg Water System.  A homeowner cracked a water main.  Crews are on site but service can be disrupted for 3 to 4 hours.  This should be a reminder to know what is below and always call 811 locate service before you dig on your property.  The inconvenience you cause may not be your own. Road Closing Railroad Tracks East Utica and Penn St

The Railroad will be improving the railroad crossing at East Utica and Penn Street.  The Railroad tracks will be closed from Monday March 26th through Friday March 30th.  Alternate routes to the Silver Creek Park are Bean Road to North Fern Street or Enter off of  Hwy 403.

Boil Advisory

A Boil Water Advisory is in effect until February 14th at 3PM for all customers who are serviced by the Sellersburg Water Company. Also be careful washing whites for the next couple of days.

Resolution: The Boil Advisory for the Town of Sellersburg Water Customers has been lifted.  The required 2 samples passed.  Again the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted. The Town of Sellersburg would like to thank Beckmar Enviormental Labratory for working Sunday to shorten the advisory.

A water Main break has occured at the Hwy 60 and South Indiana Ave.  Most customers should only  notice a reduction in pressure while the line is being repaired.  At this time there is no boil advisory.  Should a boil advisory be necessary a future alert will be sent.

Water Main Break Indian Oaks Trailer

Contractor has hit a main in the Indian Oaks Trailer Park requiring the water to be shut down and a boil advisory for just Indian Oaks to be put in place.  Residents should boil water.  There is more information of the Clark County Health Department Website on precautions.  The main should be repaired within the next 3 hours.  The Boil Advisory stays in effect until further notice. www.clarkhealth.net/foodwse.htm

Flooding

Residents of Sellersburg should not travel on the roads tonight if additional rains fall.  Silver Creek has reached 20ft and is rising not allowing the Sellersburg Basin to drain.  Flash flooding will be a problem with additional rains.  Roads that are closed include Penn Street and US 31 by Lakeside Subdivision.  Be safe if you see water across a street Turn around Don't Drown.

This alert is for people who live in the Beechwood, Dreyer Estate and Hill N Dale areas.  A main break at West Utica Street is being repaired.  No boil advisor is in effect as of yet.  An additional alert will be sent should a boil advisor be put in place. Alert : 8:47 AM December 8th 2009. People in the area can expect low water pressure.

Veterans Day Trash Pickup

Town of Sellersburg Offices will be Closed November 11, 2009 in observance of Veterans Day. Wednesday Trash Service and Yard Waste will be picked up on Thursday November 12th.  Reminder Fall Clean up starts November 16th thru November 21st.

Paving Sellersburg (resolved)

All cars must be off the following roads Tuesday and Wednesday November 11th and 12th starting at 7:30 AM.  All of Lane Avenue and Portions of Alabama from Ohio Ave and Nevada Ave.    Paving on Celesta Way and Banner Avenue will be Thursday November 13th starting at 7:30AM. Cars left on road will be towed at owners expense. We appreciate your cooperation during the paving schedule.

Resolution: After further review of the weather possible Tuesday it has been decided to postpone paving until a future time.  We will post the new schedule when details are available.

The Boil Advisory for the Hawthorne Glenn Subdivision has been extended until Monday at 8 am. Residents should continue to boil water until that time or until the conformation of the second required test is confirmed. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Water Main Break (resolved)

The Sellersburg Water Department is issuing a precautionary Boil Water Advisory through January 2nd 2014. A main break has interrupted service in the Creston Subdivision and Fulton Street Areas only. Again the boil water advisory is only for Creston Subdivision and Fulton Street area.  Water will be restored as soon as possible.

Resolution: The Boil Advisory for the Creston Subdivision and Fulton Area is no longer required.  Again the boil advisory has been lifted.

Starting March 12th 2012 and extending through May 20th 2012 Penn Street at Camp Run Creek will be closed for construction.  The town will be installing a new bridge over Camp Run Creek to help reduce the flooding.

Silver Creek has shown signs of hitting a crest.  Camp Run Creek is at a stand still from Penn Street South.  What to expect over the next several days:  If rains fall at a high rate for more than 2 hours expect flash flooding and road closure is possible at Penn Street and US 31 at Camp Run.  Residents in the Lakeside area should be able to exit to the south through Butler Drive.  Forrest Estates and Creston should use Popp Ave.  If Popp Ave is covered we are ...
