This is to advise all Sellersburg Water Customers in the Downtown Sellersburg area of possible water problems over the next 15 days. The Downtown tank has developed a leak. Emergency repairs will begin tomorrow. In order to repair the tank the water department will be draining the tank Monday morning and changing the system to a pressurized system. The Railroad will be improving the railroad crossing at East Utica and Penn Street. The Railroad tracks will be closed from Monday March 26th through Friday March 30th. Alternate routes to the Silver Creek Park are Bean Road to North Fern Street or Enter off of Hwy 403.

Residents of Sellersburg should not travel on the roads tonight if additional rains fall. Silver Creek has reached 20ft and is rising not allowing the Sellersburg Basin to drain. Flash flooding will be a problem with additional rains. Roads that are closed include Penn Street and US 31 by Lakeside Subdivision. Be safe if you see water across a street Turn around Don't Drown.

All cars must be off the following roads Tuesday and Wednesday November 11th and 12th starting at 7:30 AM. All of Lane Avenue and Portions of Alabama from Ohio Ave and Nevada Ave. Paving on Celesta Way and Banner Avenue will be Thursday November 13th starting at 7:30AM. Cars left on road will be towed at owners expense. We appreciate your cooperation during the paving schedule.

Due to circumstances out of our control the Railroad Tracks at East Utica and Penn St. will NOT be opened until afternoon Monday April 2nd.

Starting March 12th 2012 and extending through May 20th 2012 Penn Street at Camp Run Creek will be closed for construction. The town will be installing a new bridge over Camp Run Creek to help reduce the flooding.

Silver Creek has shown signs of hitting a crest. Camp Run Creek is at a stand still from Penn Street South. What to expect over the next several days: If rains fall at a high rate for more than 2 hours expect flash flooding and road closure is possible at Penn Street and US 31 at Camp Run.
