Office Hours:
The Court is closed on the following Holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Election Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Criminal Court Information:

All criminal misdemeanors committed within Clark County may be heard in this Court. However, the Clark County Prosecutor may choose to file your case in another Court in Clark County: (1) Clark Superior III; (2) Jeffersonville Town Court; (3) Clarksville Town Court; or (4) Charlestown Town Court. If you have questions as to where your case was filed, please contact this Court at 812-246-4410.

If your case will be heard in this Court, you will appear for your Initial Hearing at 5:30 p.m. as instructed by the Clark County Jail or the officer issuing your citation. At your Initial Hearing, the Judge will issue a Pre-Trial Order instructing you to appear on additional dates. IF YOU DO NOT APPEAR AS INSTRUCTED, THE COURT WILL ISSUE A WARRANT FOR YOUR ARREST.

Traffic Violations Bureau Information:

Location: The Traffic Violations Bureau is located in the Clerk Treasurer’s office at the Town Hall, 316 E. Utica Street, just behind the Court House/Police Department and directly across the street from the Sellersburg Branch of the Post Office.

Speeding:
*1-15 mph over limit           $150.00
*16-25 mph over limit         $165.00
*26 mph or more over limit $180.00

All other moving violations $165.00
Non-Moving Violations       $150.00
Open Container Violation   $180.00

Child Restraint Violations:

* 1st offense Show proof of compliance

Unless otherwise instructed by the Judge, all traffic tickets must be paid within 30 days of
the original court date as stated on your ticket. If your ticket has not been paid by the due
date, a late fee of $25.00 will be assessed and the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will
be notified. You will receive notification from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles that your
driver’s license will be suspended if payment is not made.

SELLERSBURG TOWN COURT DEFENSIVE DRIVING SCHOOL

You must come in to the Traffic Violations Bureau to sign up for Defensive Driving
School. The fee is $150.00 (cash, cashier’s check or money order only) and you MUST
pay the fee at the time you sign up. You have within 30 days of your court date to sign
up for the school.

The Driving School is a one day class, held the second Sunday of each month, from noon
to 5:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Shrine Club in Clarksville, Indiana. Upon completion
of the class, your ticket will be dismissed.

You must bring a photo ID for admittance.

If you fail to attend the Driving School, you will be charged a $25.00 re-scheduling fee.
You must come in to the Traffic Violations Bureau to re-schedule and pay the $25.00 re-
scheduling fee.
DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION TICKETS:

Please note that ALL Driving Under Suspension tickets are a MANDATORY COURT APPEARANCE! Failure to Appear at your court date for a Driving Under Suspension ticket will result in criminal charges being filed by the State and a warrant being issued for your arrest.

SELLERSBURG TOWN COURT ALCOHOL EDUCATION PROGRAM INFORMATION:

You must come in to the Traffic Violations Bureau to sign up for the Alcohol Class.
The fee is $100.00 (cash, cashier’s check or money order only) and you MUST
pay the fee at the time you sign up.

The Alcohol Class is a one day class, held the second Saturday in February, April, June,
August, October and December from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sellersburg Town
Court.

You must bring a photo ID for admittance.

If you fail to attend the Alcohol Class, you will be charged a $25.00 re-scheduling fee.
You must come in to the Traffic Violations Bureau to re-schedule and pay the $25.00 re-
scheduling fee.
